Celebrating Amiri Baraka
Place: The African American Library at the Gregory School
Time: Saturday 2:30pm – 3:30pm
This program presented by artist Regina Agu, in collaboration with Akua Holt, will highlight the work of Amiri Baraka, the African American writer of poetry, drama, fiction, essays, and music criticism. Commemorating the one-year anniversary of his passing, the event will explore his lectures and other intersections with Houston and institutions such as Texas Southern University and the Menil Collection. The program will include interviews, footage of poetry readings and performances, and discussion.
